Who’s responsible
NC Labs GmbH, Maneggstrasse 83, 8041 Zürich, Switzerland, operates Retold and is responsible for your personal data. Contact hello@nclabs.ch.
What we use and why
We use your account details, order and support information, recordings, transcripts, stories, and photos to provide Retold, suggest questions, create your book, and arrange delivery. We also process device, IP address, and security logs to run and protect the service. We use this information to perform our agreement, with permission for recordings, and for security and legal obligations.
Only record people who agree. Explain that their conversation will be saved and processed with AI, and share this notice with them. You can skip any topic. Keep your password private and upload only material you have permission to use.
Who receives it
We use Supabase for accounts and storage, Vercel for hosting, OpenAI for transcription and writing assistance, Resend for account emails, and Stripe for payments. Stripe handles card details; Retold does not store full card numbers. Our book team can access submitted stories to help prepare your book. Printing and delivery partners receive the approved book and necessary shipping details.
Processing takes place in Switzerland and the United States, with provider operations and subprocessors in other countries. Where required, transfers rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses under provider agreements. Contact us for details or copies of applicable safeguards. We do not sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising.
Storage and your choices
We keep your content while your account needs it, and order records as needed for fulfillment and legal obligations. You can delete an unsubmitted memoir in your dashboard. Email us to request account deletion, access, a copy, or correction of your data, or to withdraw recording consent. Backups and providers’ security records may remain for their limited retention periods. Required transaction records may be retained after deletion.
We use essential sign-in cookies and local browser storage for recording recovery; no advertising or analytics trackers are currently installed. Clearing browser storage can remove audio that has not uploaded. You may complain to your local privacy authority or the Swiss FDPIC. We will update this page when our practices change.
